life is short, train hard...
recent events have me thinking...

what is it...
about habits? and I don't mean that habit of humming or smacking your gum...I mean the ones that do you in every time...that always sneak up on you...that always manage to find their way back to your life even when you think you've got it under control...things are fine and then wham! it's right back there for you...when is that day going to come for me when my demons are defeated by my goals in life...it's been a long time coming...surly this is my year, right?

ahhh...
tonight was a good night at work! I heart this store! hahaha...sure, it has its ups and downs like any place...but tonight was a great reminder of how lucky I am to be in this place working with the people who are here...
I even had a great back workout...taking that one week off (which wasn't planned but whatever) must have really helped b/c I did high numbers and even a new best...tomorrow should bring more of the same!
and once again, my crazy appetite seems to be back under control...the constant cycles I battle are never easy...but I seem to be back on the right track and back in the right frame of mind...I have my goal and each day is a day I need to utilize to the fullest in order to meet that goal...no more setbacks dammit! :)

*yawn*
sleepy but my mind is racing too much to rest...might make me some JavaFit coffee and just sit back and watch the late night shows until the gym opens at 5am...that's one way to get in the morning cardio!
and for those who know me and know I am a woman of my word, I thank you...I thank you for actually following god's word and not judging, especially when you know you've heard one side of a story...but those who know me know that I was raised right by my parents...some of us were not so fortunate though...and it is those that will have karma rain down upon them from now to eternity...you are grown up...get over yourself...b/c I have news for you: it's not all about you!
now onto better things...I will soon be offering online personal training...I am hoping to launch this venture by the end of the month...I will keep you posted!

what's to expect this season?
well for one thing, it's going to be a busy one! I plan on three shows again but not stacked up like they were last year! the third one is still up in the air but I'd very much like to do it...so what shows am I looking at?
Sept 5th Team Universe in NYC
Sept 20th Moutaineer in Boone, NC
Nov 8th Elite Muscle Classic in Greensboro, NC
it does seem a little odd to do a national level show and then follow it up with two local shows but they have a dual purpose...first being that I can compete and perform for my friends and family who are not able to travel...performing for them means a great deal b/c they always me such great love and support...the second being more practice! since I am switching modes this year I figured the more practice the better...and it'll give me more experience so that should I continue to pursue this it'll feel a little more "old hat" and not like I'm trying to break in a new pairs of shoes...
now, what's this switch you're reading about? those that know who I am know that I started out a bodybuilder...I did two local shows (won my class both times) and then just did three national level shows this past summer where I placed in two out of three...and only missed 5th by two points! but what I've wanted to try from the get-go is fitness...when I first started looking at competing I thought you had to tumble...and I do not...so I just went with bbing...well, I have two awesome friends (LeighAnn and Desiree) who both decided to give fitness a try...and after watching them and learning WAY more than I ever expected, I feel like it is my time to give it a go...I know now that tumbling is not required...judges like it but they also like high energy dance transitioning into strength moves...I have confidence that once I have a routine that I can nail it! it may take some doing but when it comes to show time I will have it and work it for all it's worth...
now, physique...well, that's a whole other issue...this gymdiva is very bottom heavy! hahahaha...when I made my national level debut in chicago no one knew my name but they knew my quads as I soon was referred to as "that lightweight with the quads"...that being said, I have got to tone the bad boys down...but in the same breath, I need to bring up glutes and gain better lat width and stronger delts...and I probably couldn't ask for three more stubborn bodyparts to work on! but I know it has to be done if I hope to have any kind of success in this...
so keep checking back to see how I'm progressing...it'll be a rough journey but one that I think I'll learn much from...
